How to get to the EICC
Edinburgh is a compact, walkable city with excellent local transport links. The EICC is located in the west end of the city, less than 500m from Haymarket station for trains and trams and close to local bus links.

By Walking
There are two entrances at the EICC. ICN 2027 will use the Strathblane entrance.
The approach to the EICC from Lothian Road is flat with a gentle slope down towards the two main entrances. From this direction you will arrive at the Lennox entrance first, so keep going until you reach the Strathblane entrance.
Arriving from Haymarket Station, after the pedestrian crossing the pavement slopes up a gentle hill – from this direction you will arrive at the Strathblane entrance first.

By Train
The closest train station is Haymarket (HYM), where trains arrive from all over Scotland and the wider UK.
It is less than a 500m walk up a gentle hill to the EICC.
The main railway station, Edinburgh Waverley (EDB), is less than 2km from the EICC.
By Tram
Edinburgh Trams operate every 7 minutes between the airport and Newhaven in the north of the city. The closest stop to the EICC is at Haymarket station.
Every tram stop has ticket vending machines where you can buy Single, Return and City Day tickets. With the official ET app or the Lothian Buses app, you can buy tickets on your smartphone.
Tickets must be activated before you board. Single tickets can be paid for using the contactless ‘Tap On, Tap Off’ system (see more below). Simply hold your card or payment device against one of the Platform Validators before boarding the tram, and again when you reach your destination. This will charge you a standard single fare. Failure to Tap Off will result in a full airport fare of £7.50.
Please note, the same card or device should be used when tapping on and off.
By Bus
Several local buses stop at Lothian Road, which is approximately 300m from the EICC.
Additionally, Lothian Buses service No. 2 stops just a few metres from the EICC’s main entrances.
By Taxi
The EICC benefits from a reserved drop-off area where taxis and cars can park temporarily, directly outside the venue’s two entrances.
The taxi rank is situated at the front of the EICC where there is a dropped kerb. Taxis can be booked at the EICC’s Concierge Desks.
There are two licensed black cab taxi companies in Edinburgh: Central Taxis can be hailed on the street or pre-booked via their app. City Cabs can be hailed on the street or pre-booked in the app.
Uber also operates in Edinburgh.
Arriving from Edinburgh Airport

Tap On, Tap Off on Edinburgh Trams and Lothian Buses
To use Tap On, Tap Off, tap your card or device against one of the existing Platform Validators before you board a tram, and tap again when you reach your destination to complete your journey. Journeys within the City Zone will be charged a standard single adult fare. When you make additional journeys throughout the day, your payments will be capped at the standard daily cap. The system works in tandem with Lothian Buses, so you can hop from tram to bus and back again, and your fare will automatically cap out at the cost of a City Day ticket.
Plus, if you travel for additional journeys in the same week (Mon-Sun) using the same card or device, once you’ve reached the weekly cap, you won’t pay anything else for the rest of the week.
